- Gock Man Tin and his brother Gock Lerng (who first arrived from Suva on 9 July 1919) took turns to run the fruit shop in the 1930s. Norman says Gock Man Tin brought his son over in 1938. Gock Lerng and Gock Mong Tin returned to China. Norman Choy helped Gock Lerng’s grandson Gock Fou Chen come to New Zealand in 1988. Gock Fou Chen currently runs a Fish and Chip Takeaways shop in Wellsford.
- Norman was three days old when his mother died. His father married again and he has a half-brother who used to be a teacher of Maths in Guangzhou. He has since moved to Los Angeles. He also had a half-sister who lived in San Diego.

- Kwok Jew Kuen (also spelt Kun/ Kwn) aged 21 arrived on the Riverina and paid the poll tax. Archives New Zealand R23702268, Box 5/17, Record 50. In the early years he was a market gardener in Onehunga. Kwok Jew Kuen was the third son and Jack Choy was the eldest son.
- They supplied veges to John Courts, George Courts, Auckland Club, Northern Club, Glen Avon, Avonhurst, Astor Hotel, Stonehurst Hotel and Auckland University hostels.

- The close Kwoks kinsmen became successful businessmen in the famous Wing On Company in Sydney, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
- The house was registered as sold to Norman Choy for £2,075 on 6 July 1945. BBAE A2 5632 Box 259, Archives New Zealand, Auckland Office.
- Daisy is of Har Gee, Jung Seng descent. Her father Joe Ah Chan first came to New Zealand in 1905. His wife came out from China and they were married on 28 July 1920. They moved to Thames in 1923 and he became well known for his market gardening and his Totara Vineyards. Daisy brother is George Ah Chan and her sister is Anne Lowe. - Norman Doo was the other partner in Chung King.
- Donald (b 1946, d 1991 age 44), Neville (b 1949, d 2002), Vernon (b 1949), Janice (b 1953).
- From records one of them was known as Tung On.
- Lai Yew married Sam Young whom she met when he first came to work in Norman Choy’s shop.

- Norman Choy became a naturalized New Zealand Citizen on 28 October 1958.
- The shop site No 255 (1 door before Morrow Street) was a Chinese laundry in 1912. A Chinese man named Toy Lee, had the laundry in 1931, (Auckland Directory).
- Lowe Jack Sue arrived from Suva in the Talune, aged 24 on 6 October 1919. He moved around working as a shop assistant in a number of shops. His daughter Diana came out to New Zealand in 1963 and married Wong Wah who purchased a fruit shop in Putaruru. Lowe Jack Sue eventually left New Zealand in the 1960s to be with his other daughter in Hawaii.
