AZSCA 2026 Family Picnic – Update 6March
The weather forecast for this Sunday is excellent – so we’re confirming it’s all GO for this Sunday’s picnic.
Our AZSCA team has prepared a fun filled afternoon of social activities and delicious food for you.
May Fong, Low Hon Chong, Kylie and many other helpers have the food sorted.
Robert Wong and Anthony Fong have the children’s food, activities and fun under control.
Reminders:-
1) Bring picnic blanket or deck chairs if you need. Milford is a busy park and picnic bench seating is limited.
2) Carparking – if the main carpark on Craig Rd is full there is plenty of additional parking available on Inga Rd/Beach Rd.
Drive out from Craig Rd and park in Inga Rd or Beach Rd. There is a walk bridge across the stream, this will lead you to our picnic site. Our location will be highlighted with our world famous AZSCA banner.
3) If you haven’t done so already – register (rsvp) to info@zhongshan.nz
Remember to round up your parents, children, grandchildren and friends. Everyone is welcome!
This is AZSCA’s premier Family event of the year.
4) Helpers and supporters – if you could arrive say 11am or whenever you can, that would be great.

Auckland Zhong Shan Clan Association 2026 Family Picnic
Your Association invites members, families and friends to join our 2026 family picnic.
Same successful format and venue as last year, Milford Beach Reserve.
This year we will feature even more children’s activities and food.
Bring your children and grandchildren. Bring your parents and grandparents.
The emphasis is for ZhongShan families to enjoy the afternoon in the company of kindred members.
Bring picnic blanket or deck chairs.
Lunch, activities and fun will be provided by the Association.
Details follow:
Date: Sunday, 8 March 2026. 12 – 3:30pm
If the weather is not favourable we will postpone the picnic to the following Sunday.
Please keep on eye on our website www.zhongshan.nz for this announcement, if it is required.
Programme
12-1:30 pm Social time and Lunch
1:30 – 3 pm Activities including organised children’s games, beach walks or swim, a children’s playground, mah jong and biking tracks. Bask in the afternoon, socialising with other Zhongshan members.
3 pm Refreshments, prize giving and treats for children.
3:30 pm Conclusion
Venue
Milford Beach Reserve, Craig Rd, Milford.
Milford Beach Reserve is easily accessed from the Northcote motorway off ramp. From there, drive past the North Shore Hospital, past the Milford Shopping Mall, then onwards to Milford Beach Reserve.
Our picnic area will be under the shade of the trees, close to the Craig Rd carpark.
Plenty of additional parking is available on Inga Rd/Beach Rd, from there a walk bridge across the stream which will lead you to our picnic site.
Cost
(including lunch provided by the Association)
$10 for members; $20 non-members. Free for members’ children who are 16 years and under.
Bookings and payment
For catering purposes, please confirm your attendance by email to info@zhongshan.nz or text 021 748 625 with the following information:
– Your name
– Contact phone
– Numbers attending.
We will issue “door tickets” according to your booking. This will access the picnic, food and door prizes.
Pay by cash on the day.
